This is what happens without regular servicing! I carry these spare parts and they can be changed with your service if required.
Pitted bearing
The outer hard coating of this bearing has disintegrated into the grease. It wouldn't have been much longer before this bearing collapsed and had you stuck on the side of the road.
Worn magnet face
Brake drums need to be replaced or machined once at this stage so they don't damage new brake magnets.
